ASHG 2010 is here!

         November 2, 2010

Well, it’s that time of year again, when the genetics world convenes for the American Society of Human Genetics Annual Meeting. This year, we have the privilege of heading to the nation’s capital for the week of November 2-6. ASHG is always a highlight of our year as Golden Helix employees get the opportunity to talk to so many researchers and hear about all the advancements in the field.

This year, we planned something special. We will be giving away an SVS server license (good for an entire department to use!) to one lucky ASHG attendee worth over $30,000. To enter to win, just drop by booth #1012 and fill out a short survey. Need another incentive? How about everyone who fills out the survey will receive a cool t-shirt until they are gone.

The winner of the server license will be announced in our December Newsletter. If you don’t currently receive our monthly email, sign up on our website.

Golden Helix will also be hosting a short best practices workshop entitled, “Increasing the power of your study with next-generation sequencing, imputation, and advanced genotype calling” given by Dr. Bryce Christensen, our Director of Services, on Thursday, November 4th. It’s a bit early (7:00 am), but we promise there will be coffee and muffins, and that the content will be worth it. Stop by booth #1012 for more information.

I can’t tell you how excited we are for this year’s event. If you see someone in Golden Helix attire, don’t be afraid to stop them to say “hi.” We hope to see you there!
