Customer Spotlight – Dr. Kazima Bulayeva

We, at Golden Helix, would like to take the time to highlight one of our long time customers on her recent success. Since the beginning of 2015, Dr. Kazima Bulayeva of the Vavilov Institute of General Genetics (VIGG), has published in 10 scientific publications including two times Nature GeneticsWe are very excited to share the research she is performing using the Golden Helix software with the community.
Our_expeditions_2Dr. Bulayeva is a research professor at VIGG, which is the longest standing institution of Genetics in the Russian Academy of Sciences. Currently, the institution has 15 laboratories and 7 research groups all dedicated to researching the genetics and evolution of populations in relation to the biosphere’s protection and the rational use of biological resources, structural and functional organization of the genome, and much more.

road1Dr. Bulayeva is also the founder of  a population-genetic study of the Caucasus indigenous small ethnics genetics. Her study there is related with annual expeditions for population gene pools study. In rare genetic isolates in the highlands, she ascertained a high aggregation of certain complex diseases and suggested a novel cros–isolates approach of mapping genes using uniform genetic and clinical methods in ethnically and demographically diverse isolates.
